Agrophotovoltaics

Agrophotovoltaics is a business for farmers, fishermen, and livestock farmers to use their idle land to build a PV power generator structureThis is a 'PV double-cropping' project that allows farmers to simultaneously generate income from PV power generation facilities along with farming revenues.
There are no revenues during the off-season for crop farming, and annual profits are often lost in the event of a natural disaster.
This is a 'one stone, two birds' project that provides a stable income to farmers and also help expand the supply of renewable energy through an eco-friendly energy production.

Rural population Trend (national)

Rural population Trend (national)

Rural population aging rate

Rural population aging rate
  • Population aging is accelerated due to the decrease of moving-in population and birth rate; and the increase of moving-out population and death rate.
  • An alternative is needed for the growing population of returning-to-farm and elderly population

PARU Agrophotovoltaics system installed at the Food Science Institute of the Rural Development Administration

Dual-Axis Tracker

  • Tracks the sun to produce more energy
  • Single column structure
  • Able to install in all types of terrain as it tracks the sun
  • Able to operate agricultural machinery freely around the installation

Fixed Type

  • Fixed Module
  • Need many poles
  • Decreased farmland usability when installed facing south depending on the shape of the site
  • Restrictions on the movement of agricultural machinery

Minimized shading for Crop growth

You can optimize the amount of sunlight for your crops by applying the shadow mode when needed.* Shadow Mode: This function minimizes the occurrence of shadows by maintaining the PV and module tracking direction at 90 degrees.
